NYC Transit Strike Ending Over Means Life Goes On

Since its December 23, and I drive from Queens to Nassau County each day, I really haven't been too impacted by the NYC Transit workers' strike in a major way, but to be sure, it has been an interruption.

For the last 3 days, my day stated a bit later than usual, since I dropped my roommate off at the Woodside LIRR station before starting my regular commute in the opposite direction, so the strike was certainly an inconvenience for all of us who live or work in NYC. However, since I don't work in the city, fortunately, it was merely an inconvenience for me. But I am happy to say that its finally over anyway, and it had no impact on my blood glucose levels since it was not stressful enough to make a difference. Had I been on one of the overcrowded trains, however, it might have.

I am off to Ft. Lauderdale first thing tomorrow to spend the holiday at my sister's and brother's place (both live down there). For me, holiday food is not really a major issue as it is for some, though I must admit that Christmas cookies can indeed be tempting!

Anyway, that's all for today. I'll check in after the holidays.
