On Saturday, April 8, 2006, one of my best friends, Julius Babbitt, passed away. Julius died of complications due to colon cancer, and he was just 36 years old. I will take time to write a more suitable memorial soon, but for the time being, I'd like to post some photos of Julius with me and some other friends over the years. Julius, you will be missed tremendously!

I'm so sorry for your loss. Thank you for sharing pictures of your special friend with us. I am sorry to hear his sad story. (((hugs)))
Thanks, Megan!
Sorry for your Loss, Scott.
Cheryls, I know how you feel, especially since he was comparatively young. His death is a tremendous loss. I take small consolation in the fact that Julius would want me and everyone else to carry on without him.
Scott, it's Paulo. Wanted you to have this, which I wrote and read during his Julius's Memorial Service on behalf of all of us his friends.
Remembrance: Julius E. Babbitt
Harvard Memorial Church, Friday May 19th, 2006
How to best remember you, our dear friend Julius. Not a big challenge; you made yourself simply unforgettable, leaving an indelible mark in each of us who came across your path.
You are a good soul, Julius. And, also an extremely spiritual one. You never needed much to be happy. Always capable of seeing beauty and infinite potential in places unnoticed to the untrained spirit, there was not one single day when you would not strive to make a difference.
Charged with a never ending supply of energy, impossible was not a word in your dictionary. Ever a visionary, you knew that one’s dreams are the pillars to a new and better reality.
Your mantra for living was simple: If you wake up breathing in the morning, you are already off to an excellent start! Living small was never an option for you, dear Julius. You were determined to manifest your light and inspire others to spark up their own, challenging each and every one of us to explore our untapped potential to change the world.
Your exuberating confidence, intellect, and public speaking abilities were unquestionable.
Nonetheless, it was your disarming smile and delicious laughter, coupled with your genuine interest in people that left the most indelible mark in our hearts.
Back in January during one of our many spiritual conversations, remember when you told me: “Paulo, I have been truly blessed. What a wonderful life I have had! My family, my friends, what wonderful people! I have learned so much and in such a short time! When my transition comes, I want you to know that I am ready, ready for whatever new challenges God may have reserved for me.”
And so it was. We will miss you Julius, but we rejoice knowing that once more you are leading our way. We will not wish you to rest in peace my friend. We all know you way too well! With your never-ending supply of energy, there is absolutely no doubt in our minds that you are already diligently at work, pioneering wonderful challenges in the new dimension you are now living in.
That certainty, together with the wonderful memories you left us with, will always bring a smile to our hearts and strengthen our will to continue our life missions here on Earth.
Till we meet again, our dear friend Julius.
With much love,
Your friends
Thanks Paulo, your words match my sentiments exactly!
It is so hard losing our friends but it nice that forgetting about them is never something we need to worry about.
Thanks for sending me a link to this I am sorry I missed it.
It helps to know we are not alone.
thanks Scott.
